Mantels

We have more islands than the Outer Hebrides! There is a multitude of island styles both contemporary and traditional. They can include sinks or hobs and include many types of cabinets, open shelving and seating areas. If you like hardwood worktops, then islands are the place to have them (although not with a sink). And if there isn't enough room in your kitchen for an island you can always have a peninsula! The first example kitchen the mantel as it sits in front of an old fireplace that had to be retained for structural reasons. This is ‘lay on’ kitchen with a shaker style doors. The one to the second was constructed entirely in our workshop and installed on to a completely flat wall. Both mantels look great as they appear to be part of the original house construction
